-You may think that your votes may count or some stupid shit like that, or that social media was a major factor in getting obama elected... But the truth is that corporations just want you to think these things, and their war chest to make it happen is the only determining factor for anything political that happens in this country.
Wanna get someone elected? Get them inbetween two different Corporations somehow: Let one corporation's money, or the money of a whole corporate sector fight the other and that should level the playing field a bit.
Then votes may temporarily count for something.
Luke, I don't want to turn this thread into a pissing contest on who's right or wrong, but you're not looking at the root cause for what gets someone elected, "the people".
Yeah, it's easy to say that the corporations can do it because of their connections or money, but that is only a funding source to run someone's campaign on or a network to allow them to talk to someone who can fund them.
The electoral college is what decides if someone gets elected or not, and they have historically gone with the popular vote. The popular vote isn't won by corporations getting in bed with a politician. It's the money that they raise that's put into getting the word out that determines whether or not a candidate's message gets across that does.
Positive and viral messages over social media is what got Obama elected. His supporters talked him up and helped him get noticed. That led to him getting positive press and news coverage on live TV. That snowballed into getting him even more supporters.
Now, how did all those supporters rally and plan their campaigning? Social Media.
Who gets paid to manage social media, make viral videos, etc. for political candidates? We do, not some corporation's money and connections alone.
Don't write people off saying that "the man" decides who gets elected or not.
