Gay Dating Superbowl Ad Rejected

that ad was totally gay (lol - oh relax, homos) ... its no different than the dude who tried to sue HOOTERS because they would not hire him to be a waitress. So he screamed discrimination. Too many fucktards out in the world trying to push the envelope, trying to get something for nothing, desperate for 5 minutes of fame...its pathetic. Those dickheads probably didn't even have the scrilla to pay for that ad. It was bullshit and it got everyone talking - Mission Accomplished.

this thread is totally gay...

Yeah to me it sounds like they specifically made the ad so that it would be rejected.

This way they don't have to pay 3 mil and get even more publicity than if the ad had aired. Plus they look like the victim and get some gay fight-the-power sympathy.

I totally agree with Chris.

After reviewing the ad, it's really not anything worse than the Snickers commercial everyone was talking about pre Superbowl last year... the difference being that in this one two fugly guys in football jerseys are actually into each other... last year it was two heterosexual guys who accidentally kissed or something.

Props to the company behind it. They made a calculated bet that perspective would be the difference, their ad would be rejected and that they could bank on discrimination.

They were right.

maybe you missed the part where the gay advertiser didn't have any gay money..

nope, I don't care what their motives were and if it was a giant link bait attempt then more power to them for pulling it off. I simply think more ads with gays should be in mainstream media. And it doesn't have to be overt. For example there was a cellphone ad that had a gay couple in it. I don't remember who it was and I bet most people didn't even notice because it had a bunch of different couples and their calling circles througout the ad, but I noticed it.

Mainstream needs to get over their fears and get some balls (no pun intended) there's stats out there on how much revenue gay demographic targeting would generate and this country needs to stick to it's capitalistic roots and stop being so fucking uptight already.

Seems like you are confusing bigotry with some (albeit limited) sense of decency. They don't have a need to show heterosexual couples making out on commercials, why would they need to show a gay couple making out? If anything - that's a form of bigotry by insisting on over-sexualizing everything having to do with gays.

How about we just keep politically motivated ads out of The Super Bowl? On one of the rare occasions that people actually get together, why do we need divisive shit like that to try and push a message? No abortion commercials (Mr. Tebow), no politics and no religion either.

Gay people don't bother me at all, but one of the few things that actually makes me cringe is seeing two dudes kiss. That, and needles. Knowing the smiling gay couple in the phone commercial you mentioned were giving each other a Cleveland Steamer behind closed doors is fine, but I shouldn't have to see it unless I make a decision to dickroll myself or watch Brokeback Mountain (which I strictly limit to twice per week).
