getting a new laptop

I say stay away from solid state drives... had a couple myself and they failed epically after 2 weeks of hammering.... do not go toshiba they are crap.... I know as I have had nothing but troubles with mine...

The best bet is anything jap made... so sony, fujitsu and even the levenos...

Toshiba's == EPIC FAIL. Had my own horror story and have heard too many others.

Haha the machine right now is a Toshiba and I aint never getting a new one... Go this one the insurance, didnt want it but didnt want to sit around and wait for a new on when they asked me....

I have had a look around and it probably will be Lenovo - Laptop computers - ThinkPad W Series - Features will check aroun abit more...

One thing I have noticed though, mac lovers will fight for their love off Steve Jobs. They're like a cult. God damn how hard is it to use windows without crashing.

Get a customised top spec Sony Vaio, I got mine a month or two ago and can't be happier, I only really use it when I'm lounging about out of the office but it's so much better than my old Toshiba that literally fell to pieces... (The charging port broke inside the toshiba and slipped around so had resolder it and faf about)

if you want something that's quality the only 2 brands I've managed to find are macs and thinkpads. I'm not sure about Lenovos, but have heard they aren't nearly as durable as a thinkpad. My only bitch about the thinkpads is the power adaptor. That is always the first thing to break on me.

I love my HP Envy 15. I can run Starcraft 2 at medium/high settings while also having a shitload of stuff in the background multitasking (in total 30 chrome tabs, Photoshop, Starcraft, Netbeans, and uBot, all open at the same time) with no problems. And it weighs only 5 lbs.

Mine was $2,000 but you can upgrade it even more on HP's site if you want to.

There's a lot of HP hate but I haven't had a problem with my Envy or with my 2 year old HP Pavilion.
