Well according to half the married motherfuckers on this forum you may want to consider giving up blowjobs for the rest of your life as a serious expense.
who wants half of a box of hair curlers?
This is the best advice you will ever fucking get RE: getting married...
Right now, take $4K and throw it into a separate checking account. Let that be your reception money. Any money you save above and beyond the $4K, put into a separate accoutn and continue to accumulate THROUGH the wedding gift opening and use it to build your new lives together.
This way, you spend more time planning the MARRIAGE than you do planning the motherfucking WEDDING.
Don't be a douche and let the bitch spend spend spend spend spend or be a loser and let parents pay for it.
$4K puts on one nice party, the money you save aside from that builds one GREAT start to a marriage.
This may be true in the south and midwest , however in NY / NJ / CA weddings will cost you atleast 20 K -40 K .

You dumb fucking kiddies are missing the whole point of the day, to start a marriage, not to have a fucking wedding. Anyone dumb enough to drop 30K on a fucking one day event deserves a bat between the ears for chronic stupidity.
So, I'm getting married next year. If you are married or plan on getting married, what did you do for your ceremony/reception (if any) and how much did it cost?
My Advice: Realize you'll be much happier not married, don't leave her but just put the wedding on definite hyatis.
If you actually go for it, pluses:
What sucks at a wedding:
- Free booze or open bar.
- Buffet. Every wedding I have been to that has standard plates just sucks.
- Non-stop tapping of the fucking glass. Seriousely do you need to make 50 fucking toasts? I'm here to party.
- Lame ass DJ's playing nothing but family friendly music. I mean the chicken dance and oldies are great and all, and I understand there are little kids around, but damn.
Don't do it. Seriously.
weddings are insane expensive, mine was 10,000 and lasted for a week lolSo, I'm getting married next year. If you are married or plan on getting married, what did you do for your ceremony/reception (if any) and how much did it cost?
