Interesting article on Global warming


The media is chock full with articles of scientists, environmentalists and Carbon Billionaires (Al Gore) – stating how mankind is destroying the planet with our use of fossil fuels and other contaminents. The fact that industry is causing ecological and environmental damage is without doubt, but are we really the cause of the high greenhouse gas levels, or should we be more concerned with natural causes such as melting permafrost.

We also take a look at why the ex Leader of Greenpeace lied on national television regarding Arctic ice disappearance and then defended the fact that Greenpeace had released inaccurately alarming information and their practice of “emotionalizing issues” in order to alter public opinions and bring people around to its way of thinking about issues?

things are changing a bit, of that there is no doubt but to what extent it's caused by humans is the question. My personal take is that it's a natural cycle and we're due a slight warming. For example, during the Roman occupation of Britain AD 45 - 450 ish, the Romans planted vineyards in Wales. I don't know if you've ever been to Wales? It's beautiful but it is cold and rains like fuck most of the time. QED it was a lot warmer then than it is now. Also Britain was something like 75% forest.

People say tides are rising. Not so! They are in some places, but they are slipping back in others. Youtube 'receeding seas'.

In some places the ice pack is fucking advancing!

We're just in a cycle and we need to figure out how to ride it or a lot of people will die of starvation and lack of fresh water.
 
Global warming is happening. See this article on NASA site, I think it has more value than article on oilprice site. It's just that it's hard to tell how much human factor is involved (probably less than what greenpeace says and more than what oil companies claim).

Are we being lied to? As always, yes :)
 
People should use a little common sense. If you were Al Gore (better you than me) and you honestly believed that we were doing what he claims we're doing to the planet, and that we were in a huge crisis, would YOU fly around in a private jet, ride in limos and have a huge house that uses more than 6x the energy of the average house? Of course not. He's full of shit and getting rich off of the lies.

Context is everything... and none of us will ever really know.

"Trenberth, a lead author on the 2001 and 2007 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assessments, said he had found 102 of his own e-mails posted online. "I personally feel violated," he said. "I'm appalled at the very selective use of the e-mails, and the fact they've been taken out of context." In one of the stolen e-mails, Trenberth is quoted as saying "we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can't."
He said the comment is presented by sceptics as evidence scientists can't explain some trends that appear to contradict their stance on climate change. Trenberth explained his phrase was actually contained in a paper he wrote about the need for better monitoring of global warming to explain the anomalies — in particular improved recording of rising sea surface temperatures."

The stolen code is more interesting than the emails, which people will try to spin a million different ways.

The emails are interesting, because they reveal that much of the peer reviewed evidence is reviewed within a small group of pro-AGW theorists, and then parroted by the IPCC and governments as fact, while opposing views are worked to be kept out of journals and the debate.

It is the most dishonest form of manipulation of science and facts, and it has already cost the public billions, and soon trillions. It should outrage anyone, pro-climate change or not.

Science isn't the problem, it's about interpreting the data. Day 1 of Statistics class, I was told you can take a data set and use statistics to make any kind of interpretation you want.

I tried that on the exams though, and it didn't quite work out that well for me.
 
I read on the internet that the world was going to explode into pieces December 21st, 2012 so why worry about global warming and such. I know its true cause I saw it on the internet.

Just borrow as much as you can and try to get 37 month terms for payment........

HURR DURR, I haz pictures too.

The top half of the first image shows the now discredited "hockey stick" graph that Al Gore was so proud of. The bottom half is the actual temperature record. Remember those stories about grapes growing in England during medieval times? Now you know why. Shit was much warmer then than it is now. And guess what, the world didn't end in a Thermageddon!!!




Below you'll see recent temps have been flat and seem to be trending downward for the last decade or so, despite a continual rise in CO2.



But carry on with your sky is falling global warming bullshit. I have weed that needs to be smoked. Good day sir!

All I did was post a graph that details recorded fact, I didn't say anything else. You just made an assumption. Carry on.
 
It's sad when really smart people spout the settled "facts" fed to them by corrupt scientist, governments and global corporations.
