ICANN has today said GoDaddy will take control of the approximately 850,000 domain names still in the clutches of RegisterFly CEO Kevin Medina. The internet rumors of a GoDaddy takeover turned out to be true, and Medina now can devote himself completely to fending off the angry public with whatever resources he has left.

GoDaddy isn't all that fantastic either guys.. I mean, I use them a lot, but that's only because I have so many domains reg'ed with them from years ago. Most domainers, well, the pro ones or ones who make bank from expired/typeins know better than to get stuck with GoDaddy. Ah well, the big get bigger now.

What you say is perfectly fine Jon, but atleast this becomes a tad better than having your domains with Registerfly and letting theme expire away.

I mean, sure enough the big guys know whats the bet with GD, but people like me with a couple thousand domains, they sure'd find peace with this ICANN decision.

Honestly, I was never a Godaddy user, I just got an account with them for like 2 domains, those were for site I bought last year. For registration purpose I fully, completely recommend Dynadot, the best in the business guys! :)

Anyways, something is better than nothing!

Yeah.. just got the email from Bob. I got burned bad from Registerfly on a couple of domains. Joined the class action suit but would happy just to get my domain back!

Why in the hell would anyone not take something like RF and sell it to GD or something instead of running into the ground is fucked up!

Sweet deal - just got my domain back! GoDaddy pulled this out of the hat. Registerfly took my money twice to renew it and then parked it with their bs links page 3 months ago. It's been one hell of a ride but sweet mercy I got it back!!

Once the DNS is resolved I'm going to announce the URL and let everyone add your services to it for nada!

I might even put it up for sale as it's a sweet setup! But, you cheap ass fuckers can't or won't touch it cause most just ignore me anyway.. :rasta:

RegisterFly had good interface, good services they only sucked at support but godaddy is totally fucked up..

They are just making up some stuip policies and they can because they have so many clients.. Then it's all just harder to move away from them..

I tried to move few of my domains from them to NameCheap but I see GoDaddy is not allowing something.. Damn stupid fucks! And they will also lock all your domains if you changed anything in last 60days and then your transfer can go straight to hell, you can renew and stuck with them for one year more or let domain die, but you can't transfer domains in anyway..

Damn I will need some muslims to blowup their building

I think GoDaddy is almost as bad as RegisterFly. Seriously, they have been nothing but problems for me. I had two client domains at GoDaddy that I was trying to move to Enom. After months of trying and emailing support, I gave up.

Transferring a domain should not be that hard.

I also think GoDaddy's policy on being able to turn off your domain or even take it over because someone sends a complaint about your website or thinks you are spamming is absolute bullshit.
