Going bald - what do?

Ok, so no time for crying. I buzzed down to a '3' on my shaver. Looks much better than the long hair with the high temples/widowspeak.

I figure I have a couple of years left though to either get famous or get married.

Thanks for the suggestions bros. Stay hairy.

Awwww this thread is cute. Why are y'all freaking out and using crazy limpdick drugs??? Bald men are fucking smoking hot. When I need hair I'll date a girl, thanks.

this issue is like height it seems. you can't change it and if you focus on it people will notice. look at statham, he's 5'8 and bald. i hardly think the guy gives a fuck about either. i wouldn't suggest shaving it down with a razor but a trimmer wouldn't be a bad idea.

Prevention better than cure. I have been taking 750mg of Taurine morning and night to prevent thinning hair.

From Inneov's site:

"Innéov" Hair Mass is the first nutritional supplement designed to "energize" hair, and it contains a combination of Taurine, Zinc and Catechins. Hair Mass does much more than simply supply nutrients. It was created to work from deep within the roots to actively and continuously boost the growth of thick, dense glossy hair.

L'Oreal also had the summary abstract of a 6 month placebo controlled, double blind study on their site involving 36 women between the ages of 18-45 with "thinning" hair. Improvement was noted in 100% of the women receiving Hair Mass in only 7 weeks. All cases of thinning hair were apparently "resolved" after 6 months.

L-Taurine's benefits for hair are not gender specific, the data referenced in their patent application showed benefits for men as well. The effects of fibrosis on hair do not apparently discriminate on the basis of gender.

It is also indicated for "thinning/falling" hair on their site, yet is sold as a hair "cosmeceutical", not a hair loss treatment drug, saving the company years and millions of dollars in drug approval costs.

Of significance is the fact that research teams from two international corporate giants, Nestle and L'Oreal coordinated their efforts on this project. Nestle, in particular is investing heavily in anti-aging cosmeceutical product development and research.

We featured the original patent and its ingredients in a previous update.

Hair Mass is a combination of L-Taurine (150 mg), Green Tea Extract (145mg), Zinc Gluconate (15mg), and a small amount of Grape Seed Extract.

That's really all there is to it.

...

Suffice to say, oral L-Taurine in sufficient doses may in itself be one the most effective and cost effective hair loss treatments to date due to its uniquely potent anti-fibrotic effects on the hair follicle matrix and pilosebaceous unit. High doses of L-Taurine are frequently used by endurance athletes and is known to benefit cardiac and liver function. Its anti-fibrotic/anti-aging effects are not limited to hair alone. There are no side effects associated with its usage at any dose.
L-taurine is an amino acid that when used orally at doses greater than 500 mg. acts as anti-fibrotic agent (inhibits the inflammatoin mediated hardening or ridgification of the hair follicle matrix), thus addressing the primary mechanism of the gradual follicle miniturization seen in MPB,

I'm male, so it may work.

MPB = Male Pattern Baldness

What I'm saying is that males lose hair for an entirely different reason to women. It's all down to DHT and some interaction it has with hair follicles.

Propecia works because it stops testosterone from being converted into DHT in your body by disabling the enzymes responsible. No amount of vitamins or whatever else will stop this from happening.

Yes I know MPB is Male Pattern Baldness. Are you saying L-Taurine a waste of time for both male and/or female?

Im surprised that nobody has recommended the Heisenberg look. Now this is boss.

1/8 inch attachment all over your face and dome once a week and quit being a pussy.

^ There you go. Personal grooming time, about ten minutes a week. And you'll never have to pay for a haircut again. Plenty of women like bald guys just fine. In terms of being attractive to women, I think you're much better off being confident and comfortable in your own skin than insecure and worried about your hair falling out.

Of course, that's all predicated on you not having some freakishly lumpy dome, in which case you may have to look into other remedies.

Be careful with Propecia. There are a bunch of studies that show it causes loss of libido and erectile dysfunction. Coming from a guy that took it for a good 7 years, I am definitely one of those guys who suffered these side effects, which still reside to this day after 5 years of not taking it (thank goodness for boner pills).

I will say it worked and as soon as I stopped taking it my hair began to fall out like a chemo patient. The conundrum is; more hair with the possibility of no desire to have sex, and trouble getting erections. Pick your poison I guess. The good thing is, there are some really good all natural boner pills out there that help with any penis problems you may run into.

*Little hint for those of you who decide to start taking Propecia. Most insurance companies do not cover the prescription, and you will generally pay $60-100 per 30 pills. The trick is to get a prescription for Proscar 5 milligram pills (Finasteride, same as Propecia), and split them in 4 parts. Your insurance will cover it and a one month prescription will last you 4 months.

How long into the treatment did the problems start? Kinda curious, hear lots of people talk about it, but they all talk about within weeks of starting or lasting years afterwards.. Do people that get it start getting it late into treatment or something? Pretty weird.

I didn't start to have problems until I stopped taking it, although I was 23 when I started taking it and 30 when I stopped. I am now 35, very active (crossfit 3-4 times per week, swimming, running on off days) and generally eat well, so I am pretty sure it isn't due to my lifestyle.

Taking a drug and becoming an impotent eunuk because society doesn't like bald people seems like the ultimate defeat. Americans and your crazy standards for men. Everyone has to be a muscle roided freak, fist pumping with perfect white teeth and a full head of hair.

At the same time your women are getter fatter and uglier by the day. Beta to the max.
