After pretty much months of trying, m0rtal has convinced me to take a shot at becoming a vegan with this video:

http://www.adelicatebalance.com.au/

I don't expect anyone to be able to sit through this entire video. I lost my focus after 20 minutes and just agreed to try it out.

Is it propaganda? probably but I want to see if this will help me become healthier and more focused.

I think I'm going to try this out for a month. Just plant-based products, no animal meats or products from an animal, no fish too.

thoughts? experiences? anyone else a vegan? shoot!

People that are vegan's do get sick more, I used to date 2 chicks who were vegans, fat was always an issue with them, you gain more carbs also, and I can't be vegan, I need my protein.

Healthier to be vegan, oh man, am I at the general chat section of Digital Point again?

Someone please confirm...

Good for you, but good luck you're gonna need it. The first 1-3 months sucked for me. It's really hard to tell yourself you can't eat pulled pork, ribs, steak etc. anymore.

But if you stick it out you'll feel a lot healthier guaranteed. I used to get a lot of heartburn, sluggishness, and mild allergic reactions to meat and dairy but now I only get the heartburn when I eat something like strong peppers.

My girlfriend used to get really sharp stomach pains and cramps when she would eat meats also so if you have any of the above problems from time to time then enjoy watching them disappear within the next 2-4 weeks.

You'll sleep better and feel sharper too. Just know that you can still easily be a fatass and fuck up your sleep when you're vegan. Some of the heavier soy type products can put you in a coma if you eat too much of them.

I live in california and we have some dank vegan restaurants. I'm a fiend for the burgers at veggie grill and native foods but they still put me in a coma because they are so rich.

Oh and BTW get a juicer and try to at least juice once a daily like early in the morning before you start working.

PS. If you pick up some of the imitation stuff like meatballs, soyrizo, italian sausage, tempeh strips, etc. Try to pace yourself when you first start eating them. I swear that shit expands x10 when it hits your stomach. The first time I ever tried some of the meatballs I probably ate 8-10 because they are tiny, and I thought I was going to puke 20 minutes later.

If you stick with it you'll definitely notice yourself getting full faster and it's because you're putting real food into your body instead of processed shit that games your brain.

^^^ this can be attained from just eating healthier...

when you eat like shit you feel like shit... true story bro

A lot of people tell me this all the time. Some of my friends are gym rats and regularly lift, bike, and swim and they also eat "healthy" amounts of greens, dairy, and meat.

I've gotten some of them to cut out the meat and/or dairy for a couple of weeks and they all agreed on the same thing: They slept better, had more energy, felt less sluggish after eating, + a ton of other things.

The problem is we think we feel healthy and we kind of are, but once you go full vegan you realize that you were only half way there.

Your definition of a healthy feeling will completely change if you even try this for 2-3 weeks.

If you have never actually gone vegan, then can you prove to me that what you feel like now is really the best you could possibly feel? And for the record vegan isn't the best you can do. I went raw for a good 4 months and only ate fruits, vegetables, nuts, and small amounts of soy that were cooked at 118 degrees or below. <--- Do this and you will feel like a fucking BEAST.

If I had the money and time to be raw and juice 24/7 I wouldn't even be a vegan right now, I'd be a raw vegan. So the point I'm trying to make is that there is ALWAYS room for improvement.

@marketer23 pick up this book while you're at it.

You do realize you can eat completely non-processed foods and not be vegan right? Being vegan isn't what gave you the benefits you describe above. It was not eating processed foods.

Has anyone ever gone bush (eat what you kill, find) ? I grow my own vegetables and I can vouch for their awesomeness. I don't have the resources to grow/hunt my own meat but am curious as to how it is.

You're missing my point. Let's say on a scale from one to ten, 1 being the unhealthiest/worst feeling and 10 being the healthiest/best feeling.

Yes, if you stop eating processed foods you may go from a 1 to a 5, but if you take it a step further and go vegan you can go from a 5 to a 7, and then if you go from vegan to a raw vegan then you can go from that 7 to a 9.

Being vegan is what gave me the increased level of benefits that I described.

You should also take into consideration that I have been BOTH a meat eater and a vegan, where as you have only been a meat eater.

dearest wickedfire friends and misguided vegan proponents,

at no time in human history has any population (except for like one in china or some shit) NOT eaten meat.

the meat = bad argument is based around the fact that most meat that is sold in stores is irradiated, antibiotic/hormone filled garbage. if you buy organic grass fed meat from healthy cows, you'll be fine.

and if you really, really think you're going to be healthy from eating tons of soy (which is basically all GMO at this point, and also extremely estrogenic, so enjoy the manboobs), grains (which is also almost all GMO, and if not its garbage anyway), and beans (look up lectins), then you have another thing coming.

instead of being a dumbass, just eat real food
