Can someone help me out with this?

I want to install live chat on my site so I can answer questions real-time
and also spy to see where people get stuck. There are a bunch of offers
online but I'm clueless in this dept.

Any recommendations? Also, are there other features I should be looking
for besides spying? Things to avoid?

Thanks.

EDIT: Forgot to mention. I'm on a Linux server.

I have used liveperson extensively (10+ agents, 100s to 1000s of chats per day) and can recommend it for chat (their other stuff is crap) for small businesses. Larger businesses can do better elsewhere.

Thanks for the recommends guys. I'm leaning towards LivePerson. Had a funny chat with a rep over there... he was trying so hard to close me:

ME: "Alright, looks good. Can I have a direct signup link? I won't be ready to try this out till the end of next week."

REP: "Hold on, let me get my manager..."

REP: "OK, here's what I can do for you: I'll extend your trial by another week."

ME: "But I'm not ready to use this yet."

REP: "But I can't guarantee this limited time offer will be available next week!"

ME: "I see. Well, I know how 'limited time offers' work. I'm sure we'll work something out. Thanks for your time."

REP: "..... OK ...."

Live person FTW!

Some of the free live chat programs will slow down your website especially if you get a lot of traffic.

providesupport.com has a great set of features, and is very inexpensive. I believe it has a one time fee, and it works really well.
