Good logo designing software?

Hey since this is the designing section, I wanted to know other than the logo creator, is there any other professional logo creating software which I could buy?
Hi Iwodaveh here,

I personally like Macromedia Fireworks for fast logos. It is very easy to pick up various pieces and move them around without clicking on layers. I can bring it into Flash and create some movement then I can save it as a gif for a moving logo on a website. On the other hand, Adobe Illustrator is the pro when you just can't settle for anything less than the best. Because it is so compatible with Adobe Photoshop, the effects are endless. You can try this.

ok. i got a question. i had seen a picture of a ball that has a shadow below it and inside that shadow another smaller, darker one and inside that 2nd shadow, a third smaller one. basically the 3 shadows make it look like the ball is in a bouncing motion(when the ball is closest to the ground the shadow is darkest whereas when it moves up, the shadow fades. i tried google but couldnt find any tutorials for it. ill try to search for the picture...maybe you guys will get a better idea of what im talking abt.)
Basically this is what i am trying to design. Any ideas how to go abt it?

Is this animated? Find the picture and I'll tell you how to do it.

Yeah, without a pic a better explanation is going to be needed. Is the ball on the ground or in the air? Is there just one ball or series of them to illustrate the ball's path? Is the ball blurred at all or have a motion streak to indicate movement? Help me out here man.

Basically Illustrator can be used to draw just about anything you can imagine. A shadow under a ball is pretty rudimentary. If the ball is a circle with a gradient radial fill and with maybe a few reflective highlights drawn in then an oval positioned under it with a gradient fill will suffice to indicate a shadow.

Illustrator if you want vector (ie, ones that you can scale up any size) or photoshop if it's web only. I usually find illustrator is better for ones that require print + web, and then you can touch up in photoshop if you want it more blingy. However, if you're just starting out i'd outsource the logo design on 99designs, cheaper than the software for sure, and requires a lot less learning etc.

it is one single ball.. not moving.. stationary. it is basically a normal ball. but the 3 shadows below it give the appearance of the ball bouncing even thought the ball is stationary. I know that in PS we can create a single shadow when we right click on the layers etc and select drop shadow.. but how can i go about creating more than 1 shadow. Like a shadow inside a shadow (with the outer shadow being lighter than the inner-one)

i was referring to the part where he mentioned outsource to 99designs. Not "the same fucking thing half a dozen people before him told me".. read his post before posting

Hard to guess what he's talking about...but it sounds like gradient mesh (depending on the complexity of the gradients it uses).

Yep, I figured you knew what it was - I was just passing along a link of some crazy stuff. I can't even imagine how much time it would take to do something like that. I'm maybe a 6 / 10 in Illustrator.

PS> I don't know WTF he was saying either.
