I envy the dude who lands on this thread 4 years later when all this stupid ass SOPA + PIPA + MFA bitch slapping stops, congrats future dude!
They are a corporation/website y'know? The only thing they are controlling is their own algorithm on their own platform.
No different then anyone changing the layout/algo/pics/content on their own websites.
Google are not trying to give anyone a "better experience" but constantly try to up their profits from Adwords.
Twenty years ago we would have this argument about Microsoft, and Google had the nerve to pretend (and it still does) that it is the opposite of MS, while its actually much more evil.

Yeah but the interface sucks. That's matters to me at least.
Unfortunately for now and the foreseeable future Google reigns supreme. Wasn't it Google that demolished Yahoo? The day will come where Google Is just a shell for a better search engine. Kind of like Bing and Yahoo.

If you want money from internet, you will have to go Google way.
It wont be the first thing that they are hypocrites. Want another example? Personal results, promote your search result with +1 and get traffic, and so on.
I see parallel course with Microsoft. And sooner or later there will be a new Microsoft, or Google that will take over both of them.

lol @ people constantly bitching about the company that essentially pays their salary and allows them to work from home and have a job 50x better than the average 9-5.
It certainly seems that way. Then some people simply don't listen, adapt, and then bank.
This. See the way Bing removed all sites with "blackfriday" in their titles or domains and replaced them with their own promotions - and then afterwards when it was too late for those sites to make money, they quietly re-instated them.

If Google had done that all mayhem would have ensued. In my book, Microsoft is still way more evil than Google. And Yandex is owned by Russians and I wouldn't be surprised if they handed search data to Putin whenever he asks. So that leaves us with Google as the least worst option for now.
