FDA "Keeping american unhealthy, so the lobbyist pharmas can profit from it" Thousands, if not HUNDREDS of thousands of people die from "legal and safe" drugs yet when something truly great and effective is discovered and marketed EVEN IF THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT, they ban it.

and jack3d is/was one of the few supplements that did what it said

Oh yeah, I'm sure jack3d makes you super healthy, and it's all just a big conspiracy to prevent everyone from using it so they'll get sick instead.

Very true. And when you uncover the manner in which the FDA gets funding for some things (here's one example), you realize the whole shebang is a joke. The public are the fools who don't get it.

And then you dig up how clinical trials are done for class III products, and how class II products can often avoid 'em altogether (look up substantial equivalence and track recalls), you laugh a little. Because it's so ridiculous that it too is a joke.

And when you realize how the FDA and all the other "protective" agencies work, and the fact that none of the peasants realize it, it hits you that the future is near hopeless.

After all, the kind of change we need - and you know my position, UG - requires education. How do you educate people who are willfully intellectually empty? Think of all the peasants on this board who have no fucking clue how things work, yet clamor for more government violence in our lives. And these are (supposed to be) the smart ones.

What a mess.

Back on point: as you said, there's a lot of shitty stuff the FDA allows.

For health related stuff, you probably should be thinking that way.

I completely agree that it is stupid that the FDA will not let you use something until they prove its unhealthy (I have no problem with people making stupid life shortening decisions), but as somebody who generally wants to live a healthy life and not die, I would rather wait until something is proven as healthy instead of gambling with my health.

I should be thinking that way, but government shouldn't be thinking for me. The FDA has been known to be paid off by big pharma and tobacco companies anyway. Government shouldn't think for me.
