Hi,

I have been reading some ppl(AM's) are avoiding Google Analytics not to give google anymore data about their campaigns then needed.

I do understand putting it is 100% giving google more data, that 99% chance is shared (by reflection in different services) and 90% affecting your sites ranking and probably adword campaigns.

1. Is is really bad?
2. Can if actually be usefully for white hat sites?
3. What are the opinions of the vets here? Use or Avoid?

Please note I am not talking about the service that your getting and the usefulness of the service, just the aftershock effects that aren't laid out clear.

ClickTale | Web Analytics by ClickTale | Visitor Movies, Heatmaps & Form Analytics

1. no
2. no, it's illegal...
3. use it if you want, but the option up above is just as good (and imho better)

I would love to use something like this but i just don't see how 800 dollars a month is practical. It would probably make much more sense if I did PPC, but since I don't, I just can't justify that expense.

Analytics has come along way. I've just now gone back to using it for all my sites and I'm kicking myself for not having used it for so long. Especially now that all the shit is hitting the fan (everywhere it seems) all that history of specialize data would have been nice.

or there is another one that is free...i know mike was talking about it in ne3.
Well, there's:

ClickHeat - Free OpenSource
ClickTale - Paid
Crazy Egg - Paid

I'm using Crazy Egg, and really like it. ClickTale is very nice because you can actually watch your visitors' mouse moves in a recording. And of course, everyone loves free, ClickHeat.

I dont know how safe your information would be but those are some alternatives to google adwords.
