I got an email from Google saying that my sites are blocked because they are harming visitors' computers. The traffic has dropped significantly and so has my income.

I serve all my ads via OpenX and that's where I found the malware. Several tables of OpenX database have been hit by injected javascript. I THINK I have cleaned it all and I'm waiting for Google to review my sites and hopefully take down the malware warning.

I know some of you use OpenX to manage ads so I thought I would let you know before Google blocks your websites too. This article is a good place to start to check your installation: OpenX Blog » Security Update: How to Secure your OpenX installation. I found most of the malware in banners, zones and audit tables in the append and prepend columns.

I'm also looking into possibilities of replacing OpenX. Checking Google AdManager right now.

yea this script is like swiss cheese, it gets clunky when running multiple ads on the same page from similar zones. unfortunately I have not found anything to take its spot that is much chop...

they do updates almost weekly now via svn... most of the time you notice fuckall unless you go to betas / unstable releases.
