Google Buzz

Google is planning on creating a new social Group that will dwarf twitter and facebook. Does anybody know what we as AMer's can do to take advantage of GB and it's traffic potential? Will they allow Advertisers? Anybody here have any info on this?

lol Orkut fail #2?

Twitter wannabe service. But I have to admit it's pretty easy to get onto if you're a Gmail user since I only had to click once to check it out. Won't use it though.

Google doesn't seem to understand that email is a business application for most people. It's not a social application that I use to keep in touch with family and online friends. Buzz is a perfect example of their failure to understand this. I don't want my boss or the person receiving my internship application "following" me on buzz and commenting on my lolcat pictures.

edit: 200 posts, i'd post boobs but I'm in class

Same with Yahoo. These "Get Updates From..." is very annoying - Unless I am a creepy stalker I don't really care what this person is doing at all! Email is all about privacy.

While this was my views while watching Google announce 'Buzz,' I will say that Google was pretty good at figuring out who to initially have me follow, and who is initially following me; two different numbers.

If Google makes any traction with Buzz it's going to come from shear ease of use. Like Splific said, one click while checking email and you're there, if just a couple friends post some shit, there is a fair chance you will comment.

Not that I am/was excited for Buzz, I can't help but to think that it will at least somewhat successful.

It's google, they'll advertise on their own toilet paper of they think it'll bring in an extra dollar.

I do like the way it brings in all my contacts, much easier to add people than twitter, plus no 3rd party client to mess with, it's just BAM, there in my tab bar.

I do think some integration with Picassa and their other disconnected apps will help them compete, but for now, the 5.6 people worldwide who use Picassa are enjoying the album sharing!
