Google getting rid of Keyword Tool & Estimator

Google posted this morning they are sunsetting the Keyword Tool + Estimator in about 60 days and will now combine the two to make the new "Keyword Planner" the only option.

They introduced this last month but I still prefer the basic Keyword Tool. Oh, and you'll have to be logged in now to use it.

Looks like its just the same old stuff, now repackaged with an even clunkier interface.
Its designed to get you to look at as few keywords and possible so you just give up already and trust google with your ad spend via broad match.

The only difference i can see is that they're now showing estimates for searches on all devices (i think this is a mistake, how is one supposed to create targeted campaigns now?). You had to be logged in before to see more than 800 results so no change in this regard. I don't see why keyword tools wouldn't adapt to scrape the keyword planner.
