NOT Toronto!!
Is it just me or are things and people at Google going nuts? Everything seems to be changing. I have had two Campaigns inactive and waiting for review for over a week now. I have never had this happen before. I spoke to live help the other night about another problem and asked to check one of the Campaigns that was inactive waiting approval and they seemed a little surprised it hadn't been reviewed yet, then said it should be by next week!

so that's like 8 or 9 days !!

I have had active Campaigns and keywords marked GREAT for quality score and not getting any hits and are on the second or third page. Changing landing pages, websites and raising bids didn't seem to work and when I check the keywords in Word tracker they are getting big numbers?
Trying to get answers from Support is like talking to the wall and all they ever do now is point you towards a set of help pages like they are not allowed to answer your question.

I don't know, just seems like everything has gone nuts?

Anyone have any ideas?
 


I dont know what to tell you man, but im becoming convinced that google just wants to let me succeed for a little while so they can just send me crashing back down to nothing. Its unbelievably frustrating. Every time i get shit going how i want it to, its just taken away, and then i spend weeks getting back to where i want to be, and then they take it away. Its really depressing.
 
it does take a lot of effort to keep campaigns kept up in google, annoying as hell

And it's so worth it. I just had a almost $30 day on a single arbi page yesterday on less than $5 spend. Never done better than $12 on ~$3 spend before. For some reason Google wanted to send me tons more traffic yesterday.

Guys, you just need to keep test and tweaking. It's take some work but it's so worth it.
 
Googles Quality Score Alogorithm 50% Greed!!

A few days ago I started a Campaign With Google. As of Last night my “Average” CTR is 5%. Keyword minimums are at .12 and my bids are at .20. I always start high to get my CTR up so I can lower my bids as time goes on. This is the normal way things work. According to my Quality Score rating all is OK and I am above the Keyword minimums. So the Campaign is running good I drop my keyword bids to .15 cents. I am still .03 over the minimum bid. This morning I wake up and all my keywords are inactive and they have all gone up to .18 !!! If this isn’t a perfect example of Quality Score-0, Greed-100 I don’t know what is!!
I think Google’s Quality Score algorithm relies a lot on Google’s profit margin and is 50% Greed!!
Let’s see how they respond to my email asking for an explanation??


Here is an email from Google in response to a similar question as to why my keywords are going up:

“The increase in your minimum bid requirements within the ‘*****’ campaign and the reason you have high minimum bids within the ‘********’
campaign since creating it, is most likely due to recent improvements to how AdWords evaluates keyword quality and determines Quality Scores.
AdWords quality evaluation is intended to reward advertisers with the most relevant ads, and we occasionally improve the evaluation process to ensure that the ads we display match our users’ needs as closely as possible.
This may, in some cases, increase the minimum bid required to trigger your ads. Other advertisers may have seen a drop in their minimum bids.
As we’ve discussed, to try and lower your keyword costs, we strongly recommend that you review your existing keywords and ad text to ensure that they are as relevant as possible to users. The more targeted your campaigns are, the higher your keyword Quality Scores will be, and the lower your minimum bid requirements. ”


Should be interesting as the Campaign in question now has 6 keywords in total, so it couldn’t be any more targeted, and there is only 1 adcopy which is highly targeted to the keywords. The Landing page hasn’t changed since the start of the Campaign, so If I am running a 5% “average” CTR and I am .03 over the minimum bid with 6 keywords and highly targeted Adcopy, how do they explain my keywords going up to the point of becoming inactive??
