It was all good in 2011 but not anymore, I'm afraid. Strange noises in Costa Rica and Ukraine changed the game forever.

I can't rank subs for shit on any keywords worth a shit. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, or just had bad luck, but I've had much more success focusing on regular "core" domains.

If anyone has any experience ranking subs recently feel free to share

I've had a bunch of subdomains ranking really well lately, with what I thought was pretty piss poor on page SEO. Long articles with a low KW density, and no images. Apparently it's what's cool in 2012.

Yeah Google have really switched it up, I'm using approx. 0.01% keyword density on all my new sites.
