Google Statement on images next to ads

Are you guys going to take down the images? Or wait for an email from google? If you didn't read their blog, you wouldn't know.

yea I took down the images. Took me a few days to get a layout that works and now I'm back to my old stats again. I seriously don't see Google enforcing this policy unless someone reports you though.

Somebody mentioned above, intranerd, about 50%+ clickthrough rate with non-imaged adsense blocks. I say bullshit unless your site is a shitty ass MFA.

I'd like anybody to show me a legit content site with higher than a 50% CTR with just text ads.

What the fuck do you think arbitrage is? Content sites may get a couple percent CTR, but arbitrage sites are built specifically for high CTRs. I don't think anyone here was talking about their content sites, they were talking about their arbitrage sites. Besides, there are many of us, including me, who receive greater than 50% CTR on arbitrage sites without images.

If that statement is regarding my post, I didn't mean to come off angry. I just think it's funny how people stick to their whitehat mindset and bash the people doing greyhat or blackhat.

I wasn't soap boxing... and I totally agree, you need a high ctr to make money with arbi.... stating the obvious.

I'd still like intranets or anyone else for that matter to produce/show a good content adsense site with a 50%+ ctr. Well, maybe about.com

I got contacted by Google a couple of days back due to the images by the ads. They disabled serving ads to the site they mentioned. What's odd is that the site they disabled was making chump change, but i have another site on the same account that is using even shadier ad-blending and making much more money. They didn't say a word about that one.
