Google US search share down 5% over last year, Bing/Yahoo up

They are still dominating.
But you can bet they are probably going to ramp up their efforts and try to get that 5% right back.

Wonder if their numbers include mobile. Perhaps it's just a case of them losing desktop to their mobile site instead.

I'll admit it - I wanted to give up Google after the penguin update. I tried both Yahoo and Bing but for my style of search...they just do not work.

One of my most common searches is "restaurant name - town, state" This is to call up on the fly and ask questions, make a reservation, etc. I think it's fair to say that 9 times out of 10 Google gave me the phone number below the fold (on an iphone).

When I was trying to force bing or yahoo on myself I'd usually never get a phone number without visiting a restaurant's website and visiting the contact page.

I wanted to like bing and yahoo - but shit guys - get users the info they want.
