Google's gonna bitch slap digitalpoint and bhw.

I'm unfamiliar with the process of submitting DMCA's to google, but if it's easy, we'll see some new negative seo services popping up.

From Google:
Google cannot determine whether a particular webpage does or does not violate copyright law
Sites with high numbers of removal notices may appear lower in our results

and honestly the traffic sources for both of those are direct. SERP's wont effect them much.

I'm not sure if BHW and the copies of wso's are in the same league with torrent sites in terms of dmca complaints. I bet it has little effect on them

Looks like they are having a little trouble right now. there's been a 400 Bad Request error all day.

Going to disagree with you here even though a lot is direct. I found out about all of the major forums through search

I wasn't trying to direct the DMCAs request to BHW and DP, but at the members who own all those streaming sites for movies and tv shows.

When did Diamond Dave ["HaRRo" Harrison], become Diamond Damien?! Pleased to say I haven't been near that site for about 2 years.

Isn't this what SOPA was mostly about? Make social sites responsible for copywrite issues on their sites?

I'm pretty sure Youtube gets TONS of takedown notices. Are they going to nuke Youtube out of the index?

I think not... hypocrites...

Considering I've had several bogus DMCA requests submitted (by angry companies who were willing to do so because they didn't like a webpage on a site I own), I don't think it would be that hard to do.

I'm not a lawyer and you shouldn't listen to me.

I've had it all day today also. But on a VPS/proxy. I haven't tried my "real" IP to see if that works. Using HMA in case anyone else is and is having problems.

Oh, and I actually look forward to the idea that Google will push-down results for "darker" websites that are a little more willing to push the envelope, as that will create opportunity for another search engine to compete with Google. I think people resent the idea that a massive, monopolistic corporation makes decisions based not on what black-letter law is (and is not), but instead make decisions based on the level of corporate power of the entities complaining.

They wouldn't accommodate you or I, but they bend over and grab their ankles whenever MS, MPAA, et al have a pissy-fit.

Last I checked, no one from Sony went to prison for installing a root-kit on unsuspecting customers.
