I doubt he would have done this if there was no cameras or internet. Handing out pamphlets would have been more effective if he was trying to "convert" people in the video, but I don't think that was the goal.
They have over 180 videos on youtube and this is their 3rd most viewed video, and it looks to be the only one where anyone is confronted. If this was just a video of a guy talking about hypocrisy in politics, the view count would be much lower and thus less open-minded people would have seen it.
