Hackers Spill over 1,000,000 Sony Online Accounts

if it's true, looks like a good percentage of 1,000,000 people will need to change their passwords across all online accounts.

Our goal here is not to come across as master hackers, hence what we're about to reveal: SonyPictures.com was owned by a very simple SQL injection, one of the most primitive and common vulnerabilities, as we should all know by now.
As much as this is a shit move on their part, they have a good point. All of this extremely sensitive user data was stored in plain text, with zero encryption whatsoever.
Pathetic

I'm wondering if Sony has a class action lawsuit brewing against them. Surely storing passwords in plain text is just plain ignorant and asking for trouble...

Use highly-unique passwords for everything, and things like this should be less damaging. I spin mine with the best spinner at the letter-level. 100000000000% uniqueness.

When they brought the system back up they forced you to change your password. Sooo GG bros.

and yet I get lectured on bank vault level security / pci compliance to sell a few thousand dollars worth of product via those in the merc account space.

smell the racket?

Like anything, once you're big enough you can do whatever the fuck you want. Disgusting.

All those emails and passwords are now indexed by google , prepared to have the shit spamed out of you!
