I just saw this ad on some random site and had to chuckle.

Oh Bing, you so mad.

Although Bing has impressed me with their search results, anyone who thinks that Bing (Microsoft) would play the game any differently if their market share was as high as Google's is fooling themselves.

That doesn't make their point any less valid or their marketing campaign any less effective.

Personally, I think it's a smart move, especially since there's rumors that the FTC is going to give Google a pass on the anti-trust investigation. A little propaganda directed at the masses might result in renewed interest, which would be good for bing.

I'm honestly finding Bing delivers more relevant results in a lot of cases, which wasn't true in the past. Hard to say if that's because Bing improved or because Google got worse. Funnier, the yandex U.S. site almost always delivers more accurate results for me than either big G or Bing.

I don't know, to me it makes them look like try-hards who should be spending their energy improving their piece of shit Adcenter. I don't think the average person harbors any anger towards Google. I think it's mainly our type who hates them.

Exactly and that's why they do the ads. They're trying to change the incredibly positive perception most people have towards Google.

The reasons why we hate Google don't resonate with the average buyers. However "Google is hiding the best deals from you in order to make more money" might.

Knowing Microsoft, they'll spend an epic fuckton of money on it and it'll increase their marketshare by 0.3%.

Good point. I guess any bad PR damages their brand a little bit. I think Microsoft is damaging their brand too though (with people like me) by looking like such losers that they have to resort to name-calling instead of doing the thing that matters... improving their products.

I just started using BingAds and it really sucks compared to AdWords but the SUPPORT is fucking awesome!

Really? Bing support has been full of absolute idiots for me. Who wants PPC advice from an employee who just started 2 weeks ago and barely even knows what pee pee see is? Bing support has not once solved any of my issues in the past 4 years of advertising with them.

I think Bing is calling it like it is, and I can appreciate that. I was a google fanboy when they first gained major traction in the market, but their power has gone to their heads.

I feel for my personal use the more I can move away from google (what to do with the recent S3 purchase?) the better off I am. When the needs of the advertiser take priority over that of the reason for a tool's existence, it's time to Change - yes we can.

Bing however, needs to get their shit together, would never use.

Fuck Google. Bing is 100% right. The only reason Bing doesn't do the same is because they don't have the luxury of dominating search. Also I am sure Bing is screwing users in 101 different ways though.

No, it doesn't. But when a company calls another company out on something, it sort of implies a higher moral ground. My point is that there is no such thing at work here, and both companies would be "Scroogling" their customer base just as much given the same resources.

^ found that article on Digg.com btw, which has been more interesting and useful than Reddit lately.
