$5.60 a gallon here in aus. -_- earth day makes me lol - if the whole world shut their shit off for a day, i'm willing to bet the change in the environment would be 0.00001%, if any. Fail fear mongerers.

Tax breaks and incentives are one of the reasons your country and mine are as succesull as we are today. We are stong because we have cheap food. Without cheap food, we are standing in a bread line beggin for our next meal.

WTF! I live in the bread belt of America. I personally don't produce food but I have friends that I have known since kindergarden that do. They are not rich..they are not even comfortable. They farm because they love it. They do it because their family has farmed for hundreds of years on the same land.

They are the backbone of the free world. Neglet them and not only will the third world starve..but the Western world will fail.

I know what I'm talking about, do you?

Your friends and other farmers in the west may not all be rich by our standards but compared to the guys our taxes pay them to compete with they certainly are. If your friends have a bad harvest will they literally starve to death?

First your argument is based on caring about starving people in the developing nations, now you seem to imply that the western world is more important. Which is it? I think you probably care more about Americans than starving Africans and were trying to score cheap points knowing that most people who care about the planet also care about the plight of our fellow humans.

You still haven't provided anything to back up your claim that: "...there is a epidemic food shortage in the third world countries happening as we type this. Why? cause of the regulation and enviromental shit."

Sorry Turbo', it is kinda unavoidable. Amazingly, it seems some people are still not prepared to accept that our actions are fucking up the planet, let alone try and do anything about it.

$4 a gallon? Boo fucking hoo.

In the UK we're paying over $8 a gallon - and it's going up almost daily.

My god, my classic truck only gets 4 MPG. Costs a $150 + now to fill up. Ah, that's ridiculous.

*sigh* I was thinking about that the otherday, as I put 51 dollars worth of gas into my car (car, not truck, not suv). Back in 94 I remember filling up my POS mercury tracer for 10 bucks.

Classic supply and demand may fix the fuel shortage but damn it's going to be a painful fix. Even at 40 mpg, but especially at 4 mpg. Get a scooter and a waterproof Stetson Janaic. You'll pay for it in a month or two at that rate.
