Happy Valentines Day To Ewa

Yeah and Ryan's affiliates are basically a bunch of stupid clucking hens.

People who buy biz opps are the greediest and stupidest motherfuckers around.

Back in 2009 and 2010, he worked with a very different group of affiliates, at least that was my impression. That was when his network was still sort of semi-private, and not the "only (2) new affiliates" kind of private, but actually somewhat seriously so.

I think the demise of rebills drove him to try to push offers in 3rd world countries and whatever other crap he came up with, and I'm willing to guess that led to a lot of shitty traffic and shady advertisers all while he was trying to keep riding the lifestyle of the rebill era.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head, think content locking. And allowing affiliates to knowingly run non-incent offers with incentives and actively pushing the traffic.

A lot of affiliates got carried away by the fast and easy money that was to be made during the heyday of rebill offers. The mistake was that they confused their sheer luck (being in the right place at the right time) with genius and deluded themselves into believing that this was going to last forever.

The smart folks like Jason and Ruck realized that this wasn't going to last forever and it was in their own interest to be humble and conservative.

Eagle on the other hand couldn't stop acting sanctimoniously and having the 'holier-than-thou' attitude. When everyone and their mom was making money, Eagle seemed like a genius. Only when the industry hit a rough patch did you get to see who was solid and who was full of shit.

I can't really blame affiliates from failing to distinguish the wheat from the chaff - after all this is a business that literally requires no capital to start and as such attracts an audience who is obsessed with getting rich quickly.

I knew from Day-1 that I was stupidly lucky to make the fast and easy money in affiliate marketing and that it wasn't going to last forever. And for this reason, my first and foremost obligation was to plan for the rainy day, not burn the money on fast cars or tawdry jewellery. While I wasn't exactly known as a "rich and famous" affiliate marketer, I found solace in the fact that I won't ever have to look back and have any regrets. And only when you see others go down, can you truly appreciate the value of conservatism and modesty.

What Warren Buffett said rings true:

Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked.

Oh I know. I realize now I wasn't very clear in my previous post.

The affiliates I called stupid clucking hens are the ones who were referred to EWA via biz opp. In the past EWA had plenty of legitimate affiliates. Unfortunately they burned that bridge down.

and I stand by what i said. i didn't run 100's of thousands of dollars thru EWA, just a modest 5 figures - but it hit my bank account the week after I ran the traffic and if I ever needed anything, Ryan was on IM all night to support me. like I tweeted; I can only speak for myself. :xmas-smiley-010:

Glad I jumped the ship before it sunk.

When I started IM, EWA was one of the first networks to accept me so I really ran about 80% of my traffic through them. When it was time to get paid, I didn't get my money til about a month after countless e-mails and then having to take that shit to their FB page, and that's when Ryan got involved and payed me promptly.

Never ran traffic through EWA again after that, and never attempted IM again :(.
