HasOffers has terrible support

I just wanted to share an experience I had with HasOffers. They have the 30 day free-trial offer, which I signed up for a month ago. When you fill out your credit card, they say if you don't cancel in 30 days, it will bill you. I logged in a couple times to play with the platform, but didn't use it. I planned to cancel it at the end of the month.

About a week ago, I had a short notice trip out of town. I got back yesterday, and as I was online, I got a notification saying I was billed $279. Mistakenly, I didn't cancel. I immediately contacted their support and told them that I forgot to cancel, and that I wasn't interested in using it. All of their support basically said that I'm SOL and they won't refund the $279.

So, I made a mistake, I know that. But looking my account, it was obvious I was looking at it just to play with it, and that I made a mistake in not canceling. As a company like HasOffers, isn't it courtesy to honor a refund in this case? I understand their refund policy for people who run a network and cancel halfway through the month, but the reality is that I never used this or had intention to, which is obvious when you look at my account.

Am I wrong here? I understand the agreement says I am billed and I am responsible, but it seems like most companies would honor a refund in this case due to a mistake on my end. I am shocked that a company like HasOffers wouldn't do this.

No, they should give away their service for whatever period of time suits your excuses.

Yeah, if I had a million excuses after a week, I'd understand. But 1 hr after the charge comes through I let them know? It's bogus, and poor support on their end.

I beg to differ, their support is very good. Perhaps the reason that they are not refunding you is because you obligated yourself to pay the fee when you signed up for that particular edition on the software. I can see your point though.

Technically they aren't doing anything wrong, but they should be able to see that you contacted them as soon as you were billed. Like you said, it's not like you went through half the month and then said "oops I forgot to cancel".

I've been in your shoes before and got the email as I was online, contact the company right away, and they refunded the payment. (This wasn't with HasOffers)

You'd be surprised at the number of companies that make their money ONLY that way. Their products are crap and they figure if 20% forget to cancel they've made money.

I've always thought HasOffers was a well run company. But it is quite absurd that they won't refund that when it is a clear mistake on my part. Obviously they aren't forced to do it since I agreed otherwise, but any genuine business that cares about their reputation would refund in this case.

Had another thought--contact your credit card company, lie and say you did cancel it. If you haven't done too many chargebacks you might get away with it. A lot of time just the cc company requesting info from the company is enough to make them give you your money back.

HORRIBLE support. You cannot run a network and file a support ticket and wait several hours for a response. I was one of the first networks to use them with BLAM Ads back in the day and as they grew the support dropped off the map.

They're good for small networks / maybe merchants - not large scale operations.

I ordered a pizza.

By thr time The pizza arrived I wasn't hungry because I ate a mars bar.

Dominoes won't give me my money back.

Whats with these companies expecting to be paid?

Crazy world.

The real problem here is you ate a mars bar. You should of had a snickers.

Reminds me, I still have $4.5k stuck at Zedo from nearly 3 years ago. $279 is not bad at all.

If they're worried about your measly 278 bucks, they probably wont be around for very long... refund the cash and move on... that's how professional businesses would handle it.
