Oh god, how stupid.

EVERYONE lies.

This question is even used in psychology questionnaires to weed out people lying (about lying)and/or being very "socially acceptable" in their answers.

The differences are more in the degree of severity of the lies.

Right on. My favorite is anyone (specially girls) that tells you they are "honest to a fault" is one of the biggest liars you will meet.

i never tell a lie. except for that. and that. and that.and that.and that.and that.and that.and that.and that.and that.and that.and that.

My flogs and farticles are completely truthful.

Amy, a small town news reporter hailing from your city, really did lose 33 pounds all thanks to a previously never-before-heard of diet sweeping the nation. This so called "dynamic duo" is gaining speed and Amy has helped thousands of women in your city discover the reality of losing weight.

Love that one.

Much in the same way that sentences starting with "truth be told...." or "To be honest...."

Are quite often an outright fabrication.

I hate when people say that. I use the phrase "To be honest" when I'm going to tell someone something truthful that they probably won't like, not when I'm lying..

I try to keep lying to a minimum, but sometimes it's socially acceptable to lie so feelings aren't hurt, people don't get mad, etc etc.

Lying has been, is, and always will be a part of human culture.

One interesting thought I read somewhere during my studies was on the reason for lying.

Basically, the guy said (paraphrasing)
"Everyone lies, because at that moment, you have complete control over your life. You shape reality in that moment."

If you think about "reality" as a social construct, then that is right on the spot.
