This incident was happened in my country(Sri Lanka) due to heavy flooding.

A three-year-old elephant that was washed away in the recent floods was found dead in a 15 ft tree in Habarana today. It is reported that the elephant was stuck on the tree for three days before its body was found. The level of water in the area was estimated to be 18 ft high.
