I've never shot at anybody. I've never owned a gun. I live on a college campus during the school year, so there's no point in having one, and during the breaks and summers I live three miles away from anyone else, so there's no point.
I don't hunt, either. Not since a hunter mistakenly almost killed my cute little dog back in 2000.
I never have, but a good friend of mine did while an embassy guard in Haiti. He killed 3 dudes attacking his convoy. It really fucked him up.
Shit, that's more of a reason to have one. No one can hear your screams. It's a lot easier to commit a crime when you don't have to worry about witnesses.

I was drunk stumbling down the sidewalk in downtown Spokane at 2am when some shit erupted between some brothers wearing red bandanas and some wearing blue bandanas. What started as a couple sucker punches quickly escalated into shiv's coming out and pieces getting pulled, when around the corner pulls this Escalade with windows down and automatic weapons firing. Dove behind the tire of this Subaru and made myself as tiny as possible. Ended up staying there for 20 minutes as the situation became Escalade thugs vs 50 Spokane cops in a standoff. Total buzzkill.

Thought I was going to have to shoot this tweaker last summer that wouldn't quit running thru my property (apparently lost and couldn't find the driveway out) but when I racked one in my 1911 I suddenly had his attention and I escorted him to the highway.
