He's good but where is the "killer instinct"? If you replaced the white guy with someone like Tyson, Briggs would have been done for. The white guy has no urge to finish the fight, he just stands around and takes shots when it seems like it's convenient for him...boring. He should have gone in there and knocked Briggs the fuck out, Briggs didn't even know what country he was in half the time, he was just waiting to be put down. There is no reason what so ever that that fight should have ever gone to decision and that's exactly why I hate boxing, it's boring and 99% of the time it goes to a fucking decision even when it's lopsided as fuck.
I just see it differently. I enjoy the "sweet science", and seeing someone get shut out 12 rounds to zero isn't boring at all to me. Of course I prefer to see a KO, but last night's fight was definitely not boring to me.
I know you were exaggerating with the 99% decision thing....but for those that don't know, the Top 2 Heavyweight fighters are Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali the older brother at 39 (amazing how good he still is at that age), and younger brother Wladimir who is 34.
Together they have won 22 straight fights, and have KO percentages of 88, and 84 percent.
"Lopsided as fuck" can accurately describe almost all of the Klitschko fights over the last few years. But you can't really blame them, they just go out and beat whoever is in front of them. And they are always in shape, taking the sport seriously.
Honestly if they were American, boxing would be a lot more popular in the states..I really believe that. But instead, you have a lot of eastern European fighters taking over the heavyweight division, and so most Americans don't want to see that...and write off the division as being no good. That's not really the case, it's just that the top fighters are now no longer from the US.
Vitali and Wladimir are that much better than everyone else, even their European competition, and there aren't many American challengers, those that are there have already been beaten (Briggs, Rahman, Chambers, Thompson, Austin, Arreola).
The Klitschkos are so dominate, that I would bet if they both were retired right now, people would view the heavyweight division as MUCH BETTER than they do now. Simply because there would be some fights that could go either way being made....instead of blowouts.
