First my toddler gets sick with a fever that spiked above 105.

Second I get what I think is the flu, but develop sores on my hands, feet and throat. Wife is an RN and diagnosed me with hand foot and mouth disease, which is a pain in the fucking ass; not able to walk around (thousand needles in your feet) and eating sucks. All the skin around my toes and fingers are peeling off/dead now.

Thirdly my wife went into labor (fortunately right after me getting better), 26 hrs of labor, had the baby at home with a midwife. Our bedroom was turned into what sounded like an exorcism, but fortunately the baby girl is healthy and so is her mother. That was a week ago tonight. Wild experience.

Things are getting back to normal finally, and now it's time for my first drink in a long time (a week)

This kind of stuff wouldn't happen if we had Obamacare.

Congrats on the healthy child and glad you're feeling better. Enjoy the drink.

Yup HFMD is very uncommon in adults, but can happen.

Hope everything is well with you and your family.

and CONGRATS to you and your wife on the baby girl!

Soon as you said sores on your hands, foot, and throat I thought exactly what your wife diagnosed you with. That stuff sucks major ass.

Gratz on the baby girl though :D. I have 2 girls my self. If you never had a little girl then expect to start playing girly games like letting them brush your hair, beg to paint your toe nails, and all of that other stuff you'd normally punch someone if they ever suggested. Nothing makes my day better than seen my two girls smiling at me after a rough day.

Your toddler most likely had the HFMD and that was the fever (even if there weren't any other symptoms you saw) Mine have had it a few times, the last time took us forever to figure out what it was because I hadn't seen any rash. Finally I found the sores on the bottom of his toes (how often do you look at the bottom of your 4yr old's toes???)

The adult versions of the kid viruses are almost always 10 time worse in the adults.

And congrats on that sweet baby girl.

Congratulations to you and your wife on the successful co-mingling of your genetic material.

(... and with the whole foot and mouth disease thing too, I thought that shit was only for livestock)
