Google and Facebook announced a detente of sorts on Friday in which Google will sell Facebook ad inventory.

The ads will be sold via Google's DoubleClick Bid Manager, its real-time bidding system. In a few months, marketers will be able to buy ads for Facebook's Ad Exchange on the platform.

Good luck bros...

Curious. I thought Microsoft had a stake in Facebook. Figured they would object. What is it though, 2.something percent? Guess that doesn't carry much clout.

I believe that number was before they went public. Even so, Zuckerberg runs that company with an iron fist, so I doubt he would give a shit what Microsoft said. I recall once him stating that he would like to work closer with Google (I believe a former employee of Google went over to Facebook at the time resulting the comment - Sheryl Sandberg, the Facebook COO), even before they went public and Microsoft had just given them some cash, lol.

Microsoft own a massive 1.6% of Facebook at the moment, so they probably don't carry much weight. Particularly as Zuckerberg has a disproportionate share of the voting shares.

I'm more surprised about this because I thought Bing was Facebook's official search partner. I thought Graph Search was meant to be there next big product to compete with Google regarding voice search etc.
