Help a newbie with video copyright.

So, I've pretty much made the decision that I'm going to start producing some type of video content for my site. The problem is, I'm clueless when it comes to both production (which I'm learning) and copyright issues.

I understand copyright with images and how all that works for websites and such. But I'm just not sure where to go to learn the ins and outs of video copyright.

So, I'll tell you one of the ideas I have for a video I want to create and, hopefully, the great minds here at WF can steer me in the right direction so I can stay on the straight-and-narrow.

The Video:
The first idea I'd like to create is a video in which I pull several interviews that are on YouTube.

Then cut key parts of these interviews and combine them into one video. Possibly separating each segment with some text or something. A pretty simple concept.

What do I need to know to keep from getting in any copyright trouble in producing such a video?

Thanks guys and girls.

Hey Robert,

Hmmmm, did you read the YouTube terms of agreement? The way I see it is that the person who you are "copying" video from actually agreed to share all the video rights with whomever they share their video. So you basically have the same rights as he/she does, however the video is still owned by one person (i.e. the guy who uploaded it). So I think within YouTube you should be "safe"......but I'm no lawyer......don't take my word for it.
