Help me in buying good old domain

I have seen many people buying good old domain and work on them and are ranking them ....
I have never buy dropped or old domain , how to find them ... I want to buy 2,3 . Please anyone help me ... Who offer network services here as they must have experience .

I use namecatch.com to find domains that are expiring. It lists Godaddy, NameJet, SnapNames, and a few other sources. You can find expiring domains to bid on and they'll keep their age, or find pending delete names that will have their creation date reset when you buy them.

JustDropped will let you find expired domains that have dropped already, but after they drop the domain age resets when you register it.

Sedo and the domaining forums are other places to find old domains that haven't been mentioned yet.
 
What purpose will the domains be used for? Are you buying them for pagerank, backlinks, etc?
 
Thanks i will be making money site and will be working on it as i have seen in my niche first 2 no , old domain are ranking, one was radio site earlier .. within 4,5 month person has rank that in first page for good keywords so ... I want to buy old domain with good back links not spam , Chinese, japnese links .blog comments ..
 
because this is in the noobie section so we cut fellas like this some slack. at least he knows what section to post in :)
