Hire a VA, or Hire a friend I know?

I've always been very, very nervous about working with friends and family in my business. So much drama potentially. I'd hate to ruin a friendship because the friend or family member isn't pulling their weight.

I'm currently dealing with a friend who is trying to get into article freelancing. It would be really easy for me to handle all her marketing and what not and take a commission, but I worry what might happen to the friendship down the road if something goes wrong or we disagree on business.

Hire the VA. You don't want to fire your friend if it doesn't work out. Your friend may see it as a job but not take it as seriously as working for someone he doesn't know.

Though the split test is the most genius idea. Props to jeffrey.
