I know you guys probably would tell me where to go on this one but get this... I had a hosting account with hosting 24... they charge 17USD per month for hosting. When I first joined I had issues with down time etc... I was told that I would get 3 months free hosting from them... comes up to the time of where I should be getting 3 months free... I get 1 then they suspend the account wanting payment to reactive the account. I make the payment only to find out that they have removed all the sites / data... they ask me to post a ticket with the domains to be restored... 5 hours later still no sites.. it has now been 24 hours of downtime and no response even after 5 hours... my advice do not go near them and if know anyone hosting with them tell them to move away they are a complete rip off.

The hosting is a reseller plan. The $17 per month is not what I am dirty about galacon, you dont make promises or say things on your site then do the complete opposite. I dont care what people say that is just bad business...it is almost as bad as being stupid...
just found out that not only do they some thing so stupid as to delete sites but also something even dumber... they delete dns and mail accounts then fail to restore them... if there was such a thing as dumb shititis these guys have been plagued with it...

they say my account was cancelled... it was not the case..payment had not gone through due to bank error... they suspended the account and as a result deleted the sites...
Well i haven't heard about them but if your looking for a really good host .. and i mean really really good customer support to the point they would help you with php scrips problems 301 redirects almost instant answer. - they contacted my previous host and got my domains transferred to them and hell just really good hosting and pretty cheap too .

Would other "reasonable" hosting companies delete your shit under the circumstances? Probably not. And contract law will look to put you back you back where you should have been had this all not occurred. That is, if your shit wasn't deleted, how much money would you have made? If you are going to run an online biz, you should be on a VPS at the minimum, IMHO, and take special care to own your own backups, etc.
See, there isn't a hosting company in the WORLD that cares about your stuff as much as YOU do... So care. That's all I'm sayin'
I personally use Defender's Powervps.com, and have since 2004 or so with nary a glitch- the uptime has been insanely good, and the support is the best I have ever seen- literally within minutes mostly.
But it ain't $17 a month- it ain't a kings ransom either, though; around $50 a month for a kick-ass set up.

Some shared hosting has unlimited bandwidth that you can easily server static pages to 500,000 people a month, the problem is the processor power used on dynamic sites, that eventually sealed my fate of moving to a vps.
I have had shared going passed 150k a month. I'm not dumb enough doing it anymore, but I have done it for several months.
