I have shared hosting thats mostly fine for the (non affiliate marketing) sites I have up but one is needing more space/bandwidth than I have available for music files. I have more websites in the works so should I keep looking for bigger, better shared hosting? seperate audio hosting? or will a vps take care of all my needs? Zensix may have spoiled me with their spectacular service and I've yet to find something elsewhere that seems to measure up, which is why I'm tempted, but I'm not entirely sure what running a vps involves. I'm uncertain if diving in before I know too much about them is a silly idea?

I use WiredTree and I am more than satisfied with their service. Most tickets are answered in about 10 minutes. I would go with a VPS with them, and then scale up as you need it.

Well I use both Zensix and Volsh for hosting.. I dont use the VPS stuff becuase frankly both places shared are good enough for me for now on my sites. if disk space and bandwidth is a concern and not RAM and processor alocation just try and get a custom package from either zensix or volsh on a shared server.

Why on earth do you want to steam your own audio files? Just upload them to youtube with some graphic and make a "video"

There are other ways to do that also without consuming your own bandwith

Both Volsh and Zensix offer vps solutions too if you think you must go that route. and both have great customer service.

Thanks for the info, all been noted!
Still unsure what exactly a vps requires from me - is it much more complicated to use than shared hosting? sticking with what I know for now, but hoping to grab something more powerful soon.

The audio is original music someone wants available on their website (almost 1gb worth) and I think I've found something suitable to handle it. youtube wouldn't work for this as theres so much and it really just needs to be listed as tracks.

Now for a really stupid question... can I attach the domain for that site to 2 seperate hosts? I like the site where it is and want the extra hosting just to hold the music, prepared to get another domain if its needed but thought I'd ask.
