Hey, pal, do you offer ssh / rsync access ?

We did offer jailshell in the very beginning, but not anymore. It's just too much of a hassle for me and the admin... People were signing up for the $15/year plan and abusing their shell access.

So no free shell access anymore. No exceptions.

If someone REALLY wants ssh access, they can pay a one time fee of $30.

Are there any working coupons? :D

I think there's a coupon floating around for the personal plan, but the wickedfire plan coupon has been all used up.

On a side note... If any of you try to submit a ticket tonight, I apologize ahead of time about the 1-2 hour response time. Some douche decided it would be fun to spam us with tickets and I still have about 2,000 more to go through

Quick update: If you're going to sign up, at least browse the TOS. This comes after me having to suspend my first account, because they obviously just signed up to spam e-mail from the server.

E-mail rules: 350 per hour

350 per minute just slows down the server and gets you banned.

kthx.

Is it possible to set up subversion repositories on these servers?

Also, do you ever plan on looking into providing vps' and dedicated servers or just keep rolling with the shared hosting? If your customer support is as great as you say, I would consider moving all of my client sites over, but a few of them wont fair too well on a shared plan.

Signed up a couple weeks ago.. Been flawless service.
Submitted my 1st ticket yesterday and got a response in 7 minutes..
Good shit, Sub.

I won't be setting up subversion on the current server, but maybe a new one sometime in the future. I no longer allow SSH access on this server, so it would be kind of pointless.

As for VPS and dedicated, yes and no. I'll probably start VPS plans sometime in the Spring, but I'm still unsure about dedicated. I don't own the datacenter and wouldn't offer a managed solution, so I would basically just be reselling dedicated servers if I offered them. Doesn't really help me or the customer.

ZenSix is growing pretty fast and WF is pretty much the only place I've advertised, so I'm in no hurry. Sticking to basic shared plans has been working out pretty well so far... it helps keep the costs down and we can normally get all tickets answered in under 15 minutes. I like that.

Yeah that is completely understandable, keeping things small and simple has some major advantages.

I do have some rails projects (nothing huge) in the works and I'll probably host them with you when they're ready. If you remember, shoot me a pm when/if you offer VPS or a subversion solution. I would be very interested.

*OUTAGE NOTICE*

If you are a zensix customer and notice your site is down and you are unable to submit a ticket because zensix.com is also down, we know.

We're not sure what happened, but every server hosted in the DimeNOC datacenter in Florida is currently unreachable. I've attempted calling them, but it's been a busy signal for 20 minutes straight.

Just hang in there, I'm sure their working on whatever it is.

This thread at WHT will probably have the latest information: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=737716

*OUTAGE UPDATE*

At this point I give up trying to contact them, I've been on hold for almost 45 minutes now and I need sleep.

So please keep in mind there is nothing I/zensix can do at this time as it is obviously an issue with the datacenter. Keep an eye on that WHT thread for more information, I'm going to bed and when I wake up they better have a good reason for this crap.
