Hosting that can handle a lot of traffic for Prosper202

Definitely dedicated. I would recommend a load balanced set up, something similar to this:

2 Web Servers:

P4 3.0Ghz Processors
1GB Ram
200G SATA Storage
Dual Nic Cards
Upgradeable to 24 Servers

A single core P4... seriously? Fuck that might as well go with an Atom at that point or spend just a tiny bit more for a Core2Duo given how far we've come from the days of a P4.

And where did you cut/paste that from (based on the bolded part). Basically link-fail since you didn't include where that setup was and how much it actually was.

What bout i7s, any 920/930 or above?

I didn't see any W3520 on your server offering list, just mostly the older E55xx series which is generally cheaper.

Did you see the HEXA CORE DUAL XEON X5650 2.66GHz listed on our site? 12 total cores of processing power included! :)

Keep in mind we can do any server config needed and update our site on regular basis.

Yea I noticed that after posting, was kinda hoping for something a lot less expensive than a thousand a month, for example with wholesaleinternet (unmanaged) I can get an i7 920/930 with 8GB of rams, 500GB HDD for less than 200$ with unmetered 100mbit bandwidth. Or for half that I could get a Core2 Quad for 50$ less than a Webair Core2 Duo, and twice the ram.

Granted of course thats unmanaged but someone like myself doesn't necessarily need fully managed and probably wouldn't want to pay that kind of markup for managed anyways.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I was kidding about being cheap, Its a good investment, but i just wanted to make sure i wasn't getting something i didn't need. Ended up going with the SAS upgrade, and liquidweb, as I really just wanted to get this going now.

My biggest concern now, is should I stick to Prosper202/GA or should i try BEVO, clicky, or any other combination.
