How can I mess with this scammer?

So I'm selling a bunch of shit in my house and I listed it on CL, one of the items was a table.

"Kelsey" emailed me and wanted to buy the table. Threw in the email that she was deaf, and a couple "God bless"es here and there. Said she'd overnight me a check and once it cleared, she'd arrange pickup.

The price for the table was $250 and I received a fraud check today for $2,450. She emailed me and told me this was to cover the delivery expenses and make things go faster. If you don't know the scam, I deposit the check, it clears, then I cut a check to the delivery guys, then her check comes up as fraud/fake and bounces, and I'm out a couple grand.

Give me some ideas on how to retaliate. Here's the last email I received :

Hi Paul,

How are you doing today? the reason for the amount which i told you before is due to the mover's fee in picking up the item i bought from you and from others to my new house, All you have to do now that the check has been delivered to you, Is to take the check to your bank today and have it deposited,Which will take a period of 24hours to clear, Once you have the check deposited in your account, Kindly do inform me so we can schedule the pick up. Await to hear from you

Mr Jackson suggestion fits nicely. Even speak to the movers when they come and find the address it's going to.

give her a fake check back. or pay in monopoly money

you should contact the company on the check to let them know of the fraud.

I'm not entirely sure that's how it works. I think I deposit the check for $2,500, then she says "Ok wire $2,200 for delivery to xxxxx account and it will be picked up tomorrow".

I don't think they actually have a delivery service come pick it up.

She told me she's deaf, asking to talk to her on the phone would either give me up or just yield another "I'm deaf remember" response.
 
I like the idea of e-mailing back and saying "the bank needs [this] information". Just need something to draw it out as long as possible and waste as much of their time as I can.

The "cut a check to the delivery guys" is the clue here... They aren't delivery guys, mate. They're partners.

Just get the local fraud squad involved right now, and have the cops there when they arrive. Call your local detectives and make a complaint.

Unless she wants a wire, etc- then just call the cops- don't troll her, they already know where you live, and you ARE dealing with criminals here ;)

PS - CL=CASH AND CARRY, I don't care if you're Deaf, Blind, Crippled, or Crazy. CASH and CARRY.

She'll want a wire. I called the company and they've been getting a few calls about this already.
 
Why did you even agree to take a check on CL in the first place? Sounds like you fell for it but realized before it was to late. You don't need to do something stupid for revenge you need to not fall for this crap in the first place.

Just think about what will happen if you fuck with that check or movers? You think this scammer is above suing you for something if he realizes what you are doing?

I have received the check and have deposited it. How will the process go from here, when will I pay for the moving fees and who will I pay it to? Also what is the total amount for the moving fees? Will I be paying for this after the pick-up has happened?

I'll find out exactly how the process goes and move from there.
 
- take the check and copies of the emails to the police, in the meantime just tell her stuff is on it's way while you let the police follow up
