I have some pretty related keywords but they aren't producing the ctr I want (only .07%). I was wondering if anybody had some advice for improving my adcopy or ctr all together. Any articles or tutorials would be great too.

Thanks,
Nick

Run a placement report, find what sites are getting major impressions with little or no clicks and no conversions then site exclude them.

Find sites that are working for you and do some placement targeting.

Try tweaking you adcopy for each adgroup once you see where they are placed and the content and other ads on the pages.

Those are 3 pretty quick ways to get the most out of content targeting that come to my head.

Awesome, that's just what I needed. I'm a content n00b and didn't even know about the placement report... how stupid am I.

That solves the next question I was going to post about too, getting a higher conversion rate.

Thanks,
Nick

Probably myspace and youtube driving up your impressions. I always make sure to exclude them.

this is what i'm struggling with as well..

for instance

day 1 - 10 clicks - 10,000 impressions - 0.1% ctr

day 2 - 5 clicks - 50,000 impressions - 0.01% ctr

day 3 - 3 clicks - 100,000 impressions - 0.00% ctr

Now we will only able to get the report for day 1 on the third day, and report for day 2 on the forth day.. By the time i get my hands on the report to see where all the traffic were coming from.. my CTR is already FUCKED and will not get clicks on the following day....

what's the cure?

and talking about site placement targetting.. i can't seem to get it work, either i pay too much for cpm or will not get any traffic going by the cpc route...

urrggghhh!!!!

I just ran a campaign where I produced a huge ROI (terrible CTR but who cares) on myspace, so you might want to reconsider.

But how long will the traffic last? In my experience, if the CTR is terribly low, the traffic will disappear in a few days.

its been up for about a week. My suggestion is to do the myspace or social network traffic in a seperate campaign then the rest of your content so that if traffic does stop it doesnt effect anything else.
