How do I start Internet Marketing...Please Help..

Hi Guys,

I don't have any idea about IM but I know that it is a flexible business/self employment. This can help me to do my own stuff if I get any success.

I am trying to figure out where to start IM. I am reading forums posts but not sure where to start.

If you guys can help me which course to start with or sites to follow for totally newbie like me.

any help will be appreciated.

You will need to do lots of reading. Internet marketing is a broad term, it encompasses many different practices and paths. Do you have any idea what you'd like to be doing? Learn about the different ways to make money in IM and pick the one that best suits your interests and skills (make sure it's profitable too. :D ) Take an inventory of your current skills and see what you might be best qualified to do.

You should know that while IM can be very profitable it's not something that you are likely to make money on right away. There is a learning curve, you need time to learn and master the necessary skills. If you are needing to make money right away there are other online options that can help you generate an income while you learn to make money in IM.

Thanks for the answer. I would also like to generate an immediate income as you suggested. Could you help me with the options and in the meantime, I can learn IM, as you suggest. I am interested in something that can generate a passive income for me, for which I do not have to spend time like you do for a normal job or business where you get totally tied and hooked up and you are left with no time for your own pursuits. Please help
 
Let's start off with a couple of questions. Do you have any websites built? Also, what skills do you have? Are you a good writer, can you code, can you design shit in Photoshop, etc - any marketable skills?

You're asking a really broad question and without knowing what your skill set and level of experience is it would be difficult to give you any actionable advice.

If you're serious about IM, it needs to BE one of your own pursuits. At first, you'll be working a lot harder for yourself than you would be working for a boss - you can't really expect to just jump in and start making passive income with minimal efforts. Wait, maybe there's a WSO for that?

Thanks for the interest that you have shown in me. Frankly, I have no experience besides I do regular surfing on the net for about an hour daily, checking my emails, googling my interests, going on facebook,etc. I am ready to put in the initial effort if it turns out later to be a passive job. I am ready to learn new things. I won't be able to put in lots of investment.

Is there any hope in IM for me? :)

Of course there is. But you have to be proactive. If you want advice on a possible plan of action you should answer Unarmed Gunman's questions:

Do you have any websites built? Also, what skills do you have? Are you a good writer, can you code, can you design shit in Photoshop, etc - any marketable skills?

Do you have any investment capitol? If so, give us an idea of how much.

If you tell us more about your situation we can probably give you a couple options at least for you to consider. You should know though that most of the people on this forum are self taught, self made marketers. There are no hand outs here, we help those who help themselves and are willing to do the work.

Just so I'm sure I'm getting this right - you have no experience building sites, writing content, designing, coding or any other marketable skills to speak of and you have very little money to invest, but you want to know if you'll somehow be able to parlay that into a passive income in IM?

Wow yeah. Should have read his answer a little better. OP you are facing an uphill battle. You ready for that?
 
My suggestion for you is to study ecommerce and dropshipping. Ecommerce is very great because you can control the prices of the products you sell. If you have no idea about ecommerce or dropship stuff you can google it.

I have other interests in my life that are my prime goal which I would like to pursue, but am not able to find time for them due to my current job. If only I had a passive income, I will be able to do that. Besides, my earning right now is just enough to care of myself and my family. I do not have any spare capital.

Just curious tsvora, where did you get the idea that internet marketing is really easy and you can start a business with little time and little to no investment?

An online business is like any other real business. It takes time, dedication, and hard work, like everything else. The barrier to entry maybe lower, but that doesn't mean hardwork isn't involved. Like any real business it also means an investment is needed, whether it's time, money or both.

There is no shortcut to success.

OK, you're not going to make any money doing this, but it might start you down the path to learning.

Step 1 - Pick a niche that interests you - something that you wouldn't mind writing about somewhat regularly.
Step 2 - Register a domain. Use a tool like http://www.leandomainsearch.com/ to find an available domain that is decent and somewhat relevant.
Step 3 - Find cheap hosting and install Wordpress.
Step 4 - Start posting new and original content on your niche.

If you make it this far you will have learned how to register a domain name, how to set-up hosting, how to install and configure wordpress and how to research and write articles in your niche.

If you get this far and still want to make money online come back and update this thread. If you can't get this far on your own, you should probably give up now.

I know some acquaintances of mine, who bought a running website and are sitting on passive income.
That is where I got the idea.
 
Can I buy a website that is already making money and can I be earning passive income then? Do you know how to evaluate that such a site is worth a buy?

That's right. I do not surplus money to invest. But however, if there is a sureshot business, then I can accumulate some money in sometime to invest. up to $2000
 
^Dont invest if you do not know what you are doing , you might end up loosing it. Don't invest on anything other than the domain and the hosting as for now.Learn how IM works first.

You are not ready to operate a sucessful business right now, let alone any business

Read the above and then read it again, and then again.

Why? Because by your own adminision you know nothing about what you're trying to do. You need to take the time to learn the skills required to do this shit.

But it sounds like you just want easy cash...
