My bad if clients aren't quite the name for it, but how do you find businesses who are willing to pay you if you generate a sale for them?

Potential prospects are found by targeting them depending on the service your offering!

You find them on affiliate networks, and you can see larger lists of them on aggregators like www.affbuzz.com/offerbuzz or www.offervault.com - sign up for some affiliate networks, but only after you read Nickycake's Guide which you can find on nickycakes.com and do research on what reputable ones are. An affiliate network is a middleman between you and the 'clients' and has big lists/collections of offers you can promote that arranges payments and tracks everything and deals with various other intermediary stuff.

Also look at CJ.com and Shareasale.com there are others in that category too (selling physical products).

I know you're new, but I think you're approaching this all wrong. You're asking where to find clients/buyers/vendors to pay you money. There are literally millions of options out there - whether its joining a CPA network, selling digital products, physical products, membership sites, etc. I could go on & on.

You're better off spending your time deciding on a niche you want to promote to and then researching what options are available to monetize that niche. Or pick a particular IM method you want to focus on & then select a monetization method that suits that method.

With such a general broad question as you're asking, all we can give are general broad answers and you're likely to just keep browsing general threads but never get anywhere.

IM is a legit biz... treat it as such & do a little more research & planning.

Do a search for CPA networks, you should find tons of sites with all different kinds of offers.

There are a lot of ways. You can post on online classifieds. Go to craigslist and create an intriguing ad there. Or perhaps you want to join freelance sites if what you are selling is a service that can be outsourced. For physical product, selling it locally would be ideal before you even jumped off to the international scene.

It's all about trial and error method. If one method goes well, by all means use it. If not, try other means until such time you get positive results.

Thanks a lot for this advice. I am, indeed, new as shit. So I honestly have no idea how to get started in this business. I appreciate your advice, and will definitely think about what industries are most interesting to me.

I don’t what are you doing in affiliate marketing when you have no clue who are your client or how to market your product. You need to figure out your target market, promote it through advertising and back linking’s, get registered with CPA . These days the easiest way to get known is by creating social fan pages or social media marketing. Just create a page and spread your words among your contacts. This will surely help I getting some traffic.

What others have said above...

However, if that does not work just remember this:
"If you have a problem, if no one else can help and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...The A-Team"
