How Do You Track Keyword Conversion For Organic SEO?

With google analytics.

Setup a goal and it's "value" - and it will be listed by keyword in your Control Panel.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question -- How would you track at the keyword level for PPC? You only know which ads are bringing in traffic for which keywords, and which combination of headline+copy+keyword+ad position=conversions.

With organic, you know which keywords are bringing in traffic to which pages, assuming you're using good analytics. And you can determine which pages might be better-positioned for funneling conversions -- the simple rule I use is, any page that gets substantially more direct-from-search hits than it does hits from other parts of the same site, and sends substantially more visitors to other pages on the site than it does away from the site, is a money page that needs to become part of the conversion process if it isn't already.

But where is the "keyword level" in that equation?

This is more what I was looking for. Thanks.

We're talking SEO traffic...But that still doesn't tell me what keyword searched for from money pages produced the initial conversion to further optimize for.

there is a simple PHP script on WF somewhere, cn't find it now.
Basically you can get keyword and search engine from the referral, put it into the session and then save to DB or whatever from your conversion page

there are some paid alternatives to google analytics, like getclicky.com - all depends on whether you want the big g monitoring your sites or not - i dont use google analytics anymore for that reason.

+1 on the recommendation for getclicky, it's what I use. It's reasonably cheap too, particularly for lower amounts of traffic.
