How much of the se market does dogpile have? Is there any point in worying about dogpile or site rank on there?

Are all of their result scrapes of google/yahoo? All of the links show Found on Google, Yahoo! Search, Found on Google, etc. Why do they display links from google ads "Found on Ads by Google"?

I have someone that is concerned that when people search for his business a competitor shows up at the top of the list with the "Found on Ads by Google" source. I realize that his competitor has an adwords ads for his business name on google that is showing up in dogpile.

I'm guessing the only way to top this would be to have a higher placed adwords ad on google. His competitors ad is the only ad that is shown, so I assume their bid is low and it wouldn't be to hard to get them off of google page one.

Well, it's a good start to put up your own ad, but the competitor's ad will still show up in 2nd place. If its a possibility, I'd file for removal of the competitor's ad on grounds of trademark misuse (if the competitor has the client's name in the ad text, I don't think this works just for keywords targeted).
If the competitor runs his site off of wordpress.com or blogspot.com or something like that, then you can outbid him and be the sole ad according to Google's "no two identical landing domains per keyword" policy. But seriously, dogpile is a nonentity.

Thanks. He is apparently bidding on other peoples businees names, not just the person I know, but also large company names. The names of the business do not show in the ad. One word in the ad is in the name of my friends business. I don't really think it is worth the time or effort to place an ad to show higher on dogpile.

The other site is not a WP site, just a html site that looks like it was designed in front page by a blind person with no html knowledge.

Last time I checked they were owned by Ask.com the same with askjeeves.com and I bet they only own about 3% of the market so the answer is no, optimize for Google and maybe Yahoo, and the rest should pick up up as they go around.
