How I Spent $20 on Adwords and made no money

Love the idea. The ad seems fine. Just the shirts suck. Put a stupid picture there or something at least. At any rate, maybe add some KEEP PARIS AWAY FROM OUR KIDS shirt in there as well.

I've abandoned the idea, a quick search shows quite a few folks did the same thing I did and designed better shirts. There are some very clever ones along the same vein as what you're saying.

Looking back, I should have gotten advice before I did anything. I haven't ever designed a t-shirt.

Well, this could work but like others have already stated you are bidding much too high and on very broad keywords... just think about all the different reasons people may type in the term 'paris hilton' -- they want nude pics, or buy her sex video, looking up the recent news about her, maybe want to buy some of her merchandise or want some beauty tips on how to look like her... it's really endless.

That term is one of the most searched for on the internet... they are click-happy people and most likely won't read every word in your ad.

Just look at all the different keyword combinations from Wordtracker

... and for designs to sell they certainly don't have to be of "t-shirt hell caliber". Some of the most successful designs are just simple text and don't have anything to do with sex or profanity.

I did this with the forbidden decryption code. I made shit shirts also. But a 24 digit hexadecimal number has very little competition on Adwords so I sold only 2 shirts and broke a bit better than even on Adwords. Mostly four cent clicks. No other expenses. The shirts could have been better, I didn't know what to do with negative keywords for that topic..there was some early competition for this, I'm pretty sure somebody smarter than me really scored with their shirts.
