How long would you live in Thailand for?

Most studio apartments are in CBD area. They are SGD 4000 onwards per month. These are like The Sail, Icon, Marina Bay Residences, etc. It's definitely more than USD 3000 per month with the current USD/SGD exchange rate. You'll get very small room roughly 600 square feet.

I don't know, all depends on how you view it. In Singapore it's probably $3k/month for a small 1bdrm condo, whereas here for $3k you can get a 6bdrm mansion with a huge yard, private swimming pool, and separate maid's house out back.

Singapore is definitely a beautiful place, no question. Nonetheless, unless I have financial interests there (eg. business partners), then I don't care how clean the streets are, I'm not spending $10k/month to live a standard life in a small condo.

Don't get me wrong, not bashing Singapore or your decision to live there. It's definitely a beautiful city, and the few times I was there the people seemed great. Each to their own. :)

Ever heard of a country called Singapore?

I live in SG.

1) Singapore is the world's richest country with over $59000 Per capita income and will remain the richest till 2050 according to the recent economic survey.

Rich is relative to the living cost. When Singaporeans complain much about cost of living and foreign talents on Temasek Review Emeritus and Temasek Times, do you really think Singaporeans are rich?

2) Singapore is the world's most easiest country to do business. You can setup a company in less than 15 mins.

This is not true. You still have to wait for the approval which mormally takes about one day.

3) Singapore's sovereign fund is the world's largest ever owning stake in all major banking corporations, telecom and what not. Singapore pretty much owns all big corporations one way or another through Temasek holdings.

You forgot to mention that the CEO of Temasek Holdings is the wife of the current Prime Minister. This is called nepotism. Also it's facism because govt control much of corporations here. Don't forget that they never agree to be audited by any independent body. Also Christopher Balding recently exposed their fake annual returns.

4) Singapore is also the cleanest country in the world.
Yes it is true.

5) Singapore has the highest percentage of millionaire household. Over 16% of population are millionaires and Over 2% billionaires.

Where did you pull this statistics? 2% billionaires is wrong.

6) Singapore has less than 2% crime rate. One of the best in the world

Yes it is true. I feel safe here.

7) Singapore is also the healthiest country in the world.

I am not so sure about this because Singaporeans think that medical cost is too high here, so either they don't go for treatment or go over to Malaysia. So the stats maybe false.

8) Singapore has the world's busiest port. Over 60% of the market is dominated by singapore.

Which year did you pull this stats from?

9) Singapore is also the least corrupted country in the world.

LOL yeah right. Well when you pay your ministers million dollars salary, "corruption" happens openly. Not to mention that they tie their bonuses to GDP growth. The working class don't get this kind of bonus despite the fact that they are the ones that contribute to the GDP.

I can go on and on coz we are just badass.

So badass that SG does these:

- import foreign nationals to fight for SG in Olympics
- no press freedom
- funny laws like no gay sex, but it is never reinforced.
