How many of you guys actually like affiliate marketing?

I love the feeling of creating a new campaign and having everything work out and watching the money pour in.

This.

It's all about putting effort into something and just having it succeed. Doesn't matter what it is, but if I put a hell of a lot of effort into something, and I end up successful, I get an indescribable "high."

However, affiliate marketing without the money would be downright boring. Would you build email lists and create media buy campaigns in your free time, and earn no profits from them? Nah

I like the relatively easy money, but I'm pretty damn bored with working at home after 2 1/2 years to be honest. Probably going to have to get a "job" soon just so I can have a life while making money with my sites on the side.

Exactly. Lots of people love the liberation of quitting their 9-5 jobs, but what they don't realize is that being secluded at home can also be pretty damn boring. And if you want to chill with your friends, you can't because they are working 9-5's. I guess it all depends on personal preference. Some love working alone for 8 hours, some don't. I'd rather have an office and communicate with others.

It's even more fun when you're making lots of money from IM and you have a 9-5 job. Then you feel like you're superior to everyone else because you know you can quit the 9-5 job whenever you want, and they can't.

Yeah dopamine rushes from making an amazing campaign are pretty awesome. There was a point in time when I was making a real lot of money (I'm not back there yet, but I'm working on it) where anytime I had a bad day I would just log into my Azoogle account and the day would instantly become a good day.

I don't mind the seclusion at all, but I think I'm different from most in that regard. When you're successful a 9-5 job just feels like a waste of time... at least that's how college feels for me now.

i hate it because people ask what I do and its a pos to explain.

This.

I tell the ladies it's none of their business. They love the mystery . . .

I used to really love it. Liked being able to do whatever I wanted being a teenager with tons of money. Then in my 20's I was making a killing off some specific BH stuff I'd discovered and been hitting hard for a while when my network got banned and tricks died at the same time. At that point, I regretted doing the bare minimum hour of work a week or so to rack in $10k+ / month and wished I had been doing research.

I got kind of forced into consulting, but honestly now I think it's way way cooler because you get to plan how to spend really really rich peoples money in very competitive (or not as competitive) markets. You can spend more than any affiliate because affiliates take such a small cut of the actual money being made. You get to act like a real know it all and there's very little stress if you know what you're doing.

Guess it would depend on your phase.

Teh uzual:

*I found AM, woohoo! Look at these success stories!

*I haz a lander and .com - I iz dangerous.

*Hmmm, this traffic shit is harder than I thought - let's rape forumz for knowledge.. yeh..

*Oh - wow - ummm - some of you guys just - can I do this shit and compete? Yeh, I can!

**Affiliate marketing is a scam! I trieded it!!

If you succeed in 'marketing' not just 'am'ing', you see a new life, but that success rate is x% of the pool of us, and I GUARANTEE you they enjoy every minute of it (sans some moral/ethical extensions and or chopping off leeches et al. 'Getting' to the top is rarely fun bruh, once you're there though you appreciate anything/everything you did to get there even if you didn't enjoy it).

That's me so far, Except the part about thinking it's a scam, and it's only been a couple weeks, I'll keep going though.

I used to bring all my own stuff to market, and treated affiliate income the way most people treat parking page income -- it was a nice little bonus, and helped provide insight into what people were doing that guided me in formulating marketing plans for my own stuff. When outside life cut my work hours short, I changed my strategy and started building around other people's offers and search metrics. While I miss rolling out stuff that is "mine from the ground up" the affiliate promotions are faster to the money, easier to tell if they are flaming out, and require a much less significant investment of capital. 2010 was my first year back to work full time in a while, and I hope in 2011 to start focusing more on my own projects again, but the affiliate sphere has been really good to me overall.

I have no idea what affiliate marketing is. I just lurk around to be entertained by the high-brow humor and bOObs posts.

Especially the boobs.
