I've listened and watched most of his stuff and he's definitely good at what he does which makes sense since he was personally trained by John Grinder (co creator of NLP).
I especially liked his work with Chloe Madanes. In one of those series he got a guy on stage that was suicidal because his successful business failed and how he helped to turn his situation around, good stuff since it shows just how subjective our comprehension of current situation is and that it can be fairly easily turned around.
I've also bought Awaken the giant several years ago but gave it to a friend after I read it.

i was reading some of richard bandler's (the other co-creator) NLP work recently & was surprised to see how much of TRs' PP2 content is straight NLP, rebranded from "Neuro Linguistic Programming" to "Neuro Associative Conditioning".
What Tony Robbins does is to hypnotize you, classic NLP style, into becoming addicted to his voice and his ideas so you'll shell out more money and move on to buy his expensive stuff.
The real way to learn from him is to dissect exactly what he's doing to sell you the crap you don't need by making you feel, sincerely as a gay webmaster, that you need to suck his cock and help him buy another remote island near Fiji with his latest wife or whatever.
Take that FEELING you're having right now as a gay webmaster that this dude's teachings make sense -- that's the feeling you need to get your customers / clients to feel. It's about feeding addiction through hypnosis, nothing more. When you can get people in that state, they become stupid enough to walk on hot coals or lick your dick (ask his newest wife) and then you can just grab the money from their back pocket without them protesting at all.
Pick up NLP if you really want to do what he's doing; also spend some time learning the whole self-help/law of attraction/The Secret lingo; mix in a little Napolean Hill for the modern day, a few Unitarian Church principles ala Catherine Ponder's prosperity material, and there ya go.

Fair disclosure: Enjoyed his stuff, crewed a couple events, learned a lot about marketing by snooping around listening to crew audio, looking at transcripts etc.. Became really disillusioned until I realized it's just 'business'... Haven't really watched any of it since 2005.
Robbins is an AMAZING marketers. He has taken a some would say weird subject (NLP) and turned it into a mega money machine. Arguably helping people at the same time he is taking a pretty penny from them. Everything at his seminars has been carefully orchestrated but he is EXCELLENT in what he does.
He has taken stuff from a lot of different people consolidated and packaged it into a nice seminar and wrapped a pretty bow around it. Not any different then tons of guys pushing guru bullcrap etc. etc..
In that way he is not different then for instance Tim Ferris with his 4 hour work week and 4 hour body. He just compiled all the info for you and Robbins charges a pretty penny for it.
He has created the ultimate sales funnel.
Books - $10-20 Unlimited Powers, Awaken the Giant within will interest you into his seminars
Seminars - $500-800 Unleash the Power within seminar - 3 days where you get to walk over fire will send you to his Mastery University
Mastery University - $10K+ will send you to the seminar in Fiji
Expensive BUT and this is a HUGE but - Most one week seminars in anything cost rarely less then $3,000 these days so it's not THAT outragous.
After that it's life coaching at probably $400 an hour or whatever it goes for these days etc. etc. etc. Whatever people THINK they need to make themselves better - he is probably pitching it and trying to get your money from you.
Interestingly as it is with everything in life, if you put the work in - you can make great gains. His mastery seminars are fantastic and you can learn a ton and have a BLAST while doing it. He entertains you while teaching you some great strategies (which he has no doubt taken from other sources).
He's gotten to a stage where he pushes pseudo science for fact which I don't like (His whole nutritional kick - while BETTER then the normal diet... <sigh>). Magnetic Bracelets? really?
Could you learn all of the info elsewhere and probably for free? YUP!
Just look at all the TED talks that are available etc. etc..
To close it all out - he will help you better yourself and make a lot more money. Which he then is all to happy to take from you to make you even better then that...

^^Gertex, good post bro. I understand what you mean. He basically has mainstreamed NLP. Apparently there was a legal issue with calling it NLP, so he calls it NAC.
It is quite a bit of money for the average joe to spend. I can't imagine someone who works a regular salary job paying 1k+ for his seminars.
I do think it is an amazing resouce for entrepreneurs. For one we can afford it, and secondly, any small tidbit that I can gain from his course will have an exponential effect on my profits.
Right now I'm just getting his audio tapes from torrents. I think one day I might do a seminar though...can you recommend a really good one?

You want to do NLP type stuff? Look at essential-skills.com - blows Robbins out of the water... However, the guy is not nearly as energetic and exciting (Not even in the same zip code to be honest)
Take a look at all the TED talks, get yourself a subscription to the Mixergy series.
Get in some of the underground skype groups. I rather exchange information with some of the folks in this forum for free and build on synergy then spend 10k on the seminar.
Was just thinking about it though, the only advantage that Robbins seminars have is that they are GREAT for networking. Some of these people you will become incredibly close with over a week. Total strangers that you'll be in touch with for a while afterwards. The other thing I always thought was cool the constant hugging! How many hot looking chicks can you hug in 60 seconds? Some people start Mastery like groups that generate from these events.

You need to remain disciplined and make sure you continue with it long after your done w/ the program. Millions of people have been just as excited as the OP is. Its changed their lives made them new people. But then a couple of weeks go by and real life kicks back in. At this point in time I had nothing to live for.
I was drinking real heavy. Debt was piling up and you know what saved me....
